Day 4 - Galena - 2011 Packard National Meet in Galena, Illinois

For all interested:
Ark-La-Tex Packard members David & Peggy Stewart conclude day 4 of their journey.
Longview, TX to Galena, IL. in a 25 Packard
Todd Bates

We made it up to Galena  this morning, nice drive up the Iowa side of the river on the Old River Road.  Temp when we got up at  6 AM was 65!!!  It has warmed up some but is still very nice.  Our one bedroom villa is super, one bedroom and bath upstairs, kitchen fully furnished, living room and bath downstairs.  Went to downtown Galena, had lunch at "Durty-Gurt's", walked the main street.  Lots of people, place was just like Eureka Springs except level.  Didn't take many pictures of town, will wait until Thursday, the main street will be blocked off and all will be Packards.  Saw lots of pretty farms etc...on the way.  977 miles total, car still running good, lost a nut off a bolt but replaced it before we left this morning.
